Before GTA 6, we had GTA 4 and GTA 5 from Rockstar Games — not to mention Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2.
Interestingly, all their trailers seem to follow a somewhat similar pattern. Based on that information, we can calculate and might actually be able to predict the release date.
Grand Theft Auto 5
- Third Trailer Release date: April 30, 2013
- Game Release date: September 17, 2013
- Days Between: 140 days
Grand Theft Auto 4
- Third Trailer Release date: December 6, 2007
- Game Release date: April 29, 2008
- Days Between: 145 days
Red Dead Redemption
- Third Trailer Release date: March 25, 2010
- Game Release date: May 18, 2010
- Days Between: 54 days
Red Dead Redemption 2
- Third Trailer Release date: May 2, 2018
- Game Release date: October 26, 2018
- Days Between: 177 days
Looking at Rockstar’s history, gap between the third trailer and the game’s release is about 129 days — roughly four months.
Some fans are saying that the next trailer might be released at the end of 2025 or early 2026. If we add up the numbers, the approximate release date could be somewhere around January 17, 2026.
And if we add 129 days to that, the potential release date might be around May 26, 2026. Of course, this is pure speculation, and the actual release could be very different.
The game could be delayed like Red Dead Redemption 2, or it could come earlier like Red Dead Redemption. Let’s just hope they don’t make us wait too long!
