Grand Theft Auto 6 may still be months away, but Take-Two Interactive has just given fans another major reason to believe Rockstar’s next blockbuster is right on schedule.

The publisher behind GTA 6 has released its latest financial results, and they paint a picture of a company preparing for one of the biggest entertainment launches in history.

Not only did Take-Two beat Wall Street expectations across almost every major financial metric, but executives also doubled down on fiscal 2027 being a “breakout year”—with GTA 6 leading the charge.

For fans who have spent years worrying about another delay, that confidence may be the biggest headline of all.

Take-Two reported $1.58 billion in fourth-quarter net bookings, edging past analyst expectations, while GAAP revenue climbed to $1.68 billion. Earnings per share also came in slightly ahead of forecasts, continuing a trend of stronger-than-expected performance.

The momentum didn’t stop there.

Across the entire fiscal year, the company posted a record $6.72 billion in net bookings, comfortably exceeding its own guidance.

Even more impressively, Take-Two slashed its annual net loss from $4.48 billion last year to just $298.2 million, marking one of the company’s strongest financial turnarounds in recent memory.

While GTA 6 is undoubtedly the biggest reason investors are paying attention, the report revealed something equally important: Take-Two isn’t relying solely on Rockstar’s next blockbuster.

Recurring consumer spending—which includes purchases like GTA Online Shark Cards, NBA 2K’s virtual currency, and mobile game transactions—continues to power the company’s business.

It accounted for 82% of fourth-quarter net bookings, highlighting just how valuable Take-Two’s existing games remain years after release.

Remarkably, GTA Online is still growing more than a decade after its launch.

The online crime simulator continued to generate higher recurring revenue during fiscal 2026, proving that Los Santos remains one of gaming’s most profitable playgrounds even as players prepare to move on to Vice City.

NBA 2K also had another huge year, with NBA 2K26 selling more than 10 million copies, while Zynga’s mobile portfolio—including Toon Blast and Match Factory—continued delivering strong growth.

However, it was what came next that immediately caught the attention of both investors and GTA fans.

Take-Two expects fiscal 2027 net bookings to reach between $8 billion and $8.2 billion, representing roughly 20% year-over-year growth.

During the earnings call, CEO Strauss Zelnick described the upcoming financial year as “a breakout year”, while calling Grand Theft Auto 6 “arguably the most anticipated entertainment property.”

Perhaps most importantly, the company once again pointed to November 19, 2026, as GTA 6’s planned launch date.

There was no mention of another delay—something many fans had feared after the game’s previous postponement.

That confidence is already influencing Wall Street.

Bank of America maintained its Buy rating on Take-Two shares with a $320 price target, suggesting the company’s own forecasts could actually be conservative.

Analyst Michael Hickey believes Take-Two’s extensive catalogue of successful franchises provides such a strong financial foundation that fiscal 2027 could outperform current guidance if GTA 6 launches as expected.

Beyond the numbers, the report also hints at the enormous impact GTA 6 could have on the gaming industry itself.

Analysts expect millions of players to upgrade their gaming PCs and current-generation consoles ahead of launch, while several publishers may choose to avoid releasing major titles during GTA 6’s launch window.

Rockstar has dominated the industry’s attention before, but expectations suggest GTA 6 could set an entirely new benchmark.

That’s exactly why every update surrounding the game continues to generate headlines, even when it comes from a financial report instead of a new trailer.

With Rockstar remaining largely silent about its next marketing campaign, Take-Two’s latest earnings may be the clearest indication yet that everything is moving in the right direction.

While fans are still eagerly waiting for the next gameplay reveal, the publisher’s confidence has only added to the growing belief that GTA 6 is finally entering the home stretch.

If Take-Two’s projections prove accurate, 2027 won’t just be a record-breaking year for the company—it could become one of the biggest years the gaming industry has ever seen.
