A new report from popular YouTuber El Rubius is giving GTA 6 fans plenty to talk about after he reportedly spent nearly three hours watching Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay with Rockstar developers.
According to a detailed summary shared on Reddit, Rubius got to watch Rockstar’s head of development Rob Nelson demonstrate different parts of the game.
The preview reportedly showed everything from highly detailed heists and explorable interiors to new interactions between Jason and Lucia.
Some of the information has not been officially confirmed by Rockstar, so these details should be treated as observations from the preview rather than confirmed features.
GTA 6 Could Have Some Extremely Brutal Gunplay

One of the biggest moments from the preview involved Rockstar’s Rob Nelson shooting an NPC in the head with a shotgun.
According to Rubius’ account, the impact was extremely brutal, with the NPC’s head being completely blown off.
The level of violence was reportedly so intense that Rubius was unsure whether the exact effect would remain in the final version of GTA 6.
The preview also showed that bodies can reportedly be placed inside car trunks.
Jason and Lucia can apparently use trunks themselves as hiding spots, potentially giving players another way to escape after committing a crime.
GTA 6 Heists Could Be Much More Dynamic

One of the most interesting discoveries involves jewelry store robberies.
According to the report, players will apparently be able to rob certain jewelry stores outside of traditional story missions.
A 3D map can show information about a location, including possible entry points and the amount of loot available.
One jewelry store reportedly had between $15,000 and $40,000 worth of loot.
The preview also showed Rob Nelson searching an employee’s desk to find a safe code before opening the safe.
Players reportedly have to physically collect individual gold bars, diamonds and stacks of cash.
Even gas station cash registers can apparently be emptied bill by bill.
This could make GTA 6’s open-world crimes feel much more interactive than simply walking into a store, pointing a weapon at someone and waiting for the money to appear.
The Reddit community was particularly interested in this system, with some players suggesting that different stores could effectively act as repeatable robbery opportunities with different levels of risk and reward.
The GTA 6 Map Could Be Huge

Another major claim concerns the size of the GTA 6 map.
Rubius reportedly said that a Rockstar technician told him the map is around three times larger than the Red Dead Redemption 2 map.
He also reportedly saw the map briefly and described it as looking like an island, although he did not see the northern section that has been the subject of various fan theories and rumors.
It is important to note that the exact size of GTA 6’s map has not been officially confirmed by Rockstar.
The “three times larger” figure should therefore be treated as an unofficial claim from the preview rather than a confirmed measurement.
Jason and Lucia’s Relationship Could Affect Gameplay

The preview reportedly revealed another interesting part of the relationship between Jason and Lucia.
According to the report, leaving one character behind during a shootout could make them angry with the player.
Their relationship can apparently influence how cooperative and effective they are during future heists.
One example reportedly involved Lucia stealing a helicopter and leaving Jason behind after a heist.
Jason then sent Lucia a message asking, “Hey, aren’t you forgetting something?”
That small interaction could point toward a deeper relationship system between the two protagonists, where the player’s actions can affect how Jason and Lucia work together.
If accurate, this could make the two-character system in GTA 6 much more meaningful than simply switching between protagonists.
GTA 6’s World Is Packed With Small Details

The preview also reportedly showed a huge number of smaller interactions.
Players can apparently ask dog owners for permission to pet their dogs. Some owners or dogs may refuse, and Jason’s animation can change depending on the interaction.
The beach is also reportedly more dynamic, with crowds changing depending on the time of day.
Footprints can appear in the sand, while small objects such as phones and glasses can fly off NPCs when they are hit.
Players can also ride electric scooters and kick pedestrians while moving. Jason can reportedly open his car door while driving to hit pedestrians or other vehicles.
These may sound like small features, but they are exactly the kind of details that can make GTA 6’s open world feel more alive.
First-Person Mode Was Not Available During the Preview

Interestingly, the version of GTA 6 shown to Rubius reportedly did not have a first-person perspective.
When asked about it, Rob Nelson reportedly said the feature had not been added “at the moment.”
That doesn’t necessarily mean GTA 6 will launch without first-person mode. The game is still in development, and the feature could potentially be added before release.
GTA 5 received a first-person mode when it arrived on PS4, Xbox One and PC, so many fans are naturally expecting Rockstar to bring the feature back for GTA 6.
GTA 6 Is Taking Inspiration From Red Dead Redemption 2

Many of these reported details have led GTA fans to compare GTA 6 to Red Dead Redemption 2.
The slower interaction animations, detailed world reactions, physical objects, animal interactions and relationship systems all sound like ideas that could build on systems Rockstar introduced in Red Dead Redemption 2.
However, GTA 6 still appears to be heavily focused on crime, action and the fast-paced style that the Grand Theft Auto series is known for.
The Reddit discussion has already seen fans praising Rockstar for combining the detailed world design of Red Dead Redemption 2 with the chaos and freedom of GTA.
If these reported details make it into the final game, GTA 6 could offer a much deeper open-world experience than GTA 5.
Rockstar has already shown that it wants players to interact with the world in more ways than ever before.
From planning robberies and collecting individual pieces of loot to building a stronger relationship between Jason and Lucia, many of these systems could make even simple activities feel more meaningful.
For now, fans will have to wait for Rockstar to officially reveal more information and confirm which of these preview details will be available when GTA 6 launches.
