GTA 6 fans are once again talking about Rockstar’s graphics after a new comparison showed just how different the game looks compared with what players saw back in 2023.

A post on Reddit has gone viral after showing two GTA 6 character images side by side.

The post points out that the two characters are not actually the same person, but the difference in visual quality between the early footage and the latest GTA 6 Extended Look is still hard to ignore.

When the first GTA 6 trailer was released in December 2023, fans were already amazed by the graphics. At the time, many people were impressed by the character models, hair, skin details and overall quality of the Vice City world.

But Rockstar has had almost three more years to keep working on the game.

The latest footage makes that extra development time much easier to see.

Characters now have more detailed faces, hair, clothing and animations, while the world around them looks far more polished.

Some were especially surprised that Rockstar appears to have improved the visuals so much while still targeting the same current-generation consoles.

One fan even pointed out that Rockstar’s previous games went through a similar process.

Early Red Dead Redemption 2 footage looked impressive when it was first shown, but the final game ended up looking even better.

That has some GTA 6 fans wondering how much more Rockstar could improve the game before launch.

There is also an important detail behind the comparison. The two characters shown in the Reddit post are not confirmed to be the same character, so the images should not be treated as a direct before-and-after comparison of one character model.

Still, the discussion highlights something fans have noticed across multiple GTA 6 trailers and gameplay videos: Rockstar’s visual quality has continued to improve throughout development.

The latest Extended Look also gives players a much clearer look at small details that were difficult to notice in the original trailer.

Character animations, hair movement, clothing, lighting and facial details all appear much more refined.

Some fans are even joking that if Rockstar can make this much progress between the first trailer and the latest footage, the final version of GTA 6 could look even better when it actually launches.

With GTA 6 scheduled to release on November 19, 2026, players now only have a little longer to find out just how close the current footage is to the final game.

For a game that has already spent years in development, the biggest surprise may be that Rockstar still seems to be finding ways to make GTA 6 look better.
