The GTA 6 community map has received a major update, adding more roads, buildings, locations and elevation details based on leaked map data and Rockstar’s official gameplay footage.
The GTA 6 Community Map V16 was recently shared on Reddit, giving fans a closer look at the possible layout of Leonida and Vice City before the game’s release.
The latest version uses the August 18 leaked map as its base and adds new details from the leak, the GTA 6 Extended Look and other previously available information.
The map is fan-made and is not an official Rockstar Games release.
According to the update notes, the mapping team has changed several parts of the map, including the coastlines, landmass, beaches, urban areas and county borders.
The team has also added more roads and buildings in areas such as Vice City, Key Lento, Hamlet, Capri and Ambrosia.
The update also includes improved elevation data based on a leaked heightmap. This helps the community create a better idea of the hills, lower areas and overall shape of the GTA 6 map.
Another major change is the addition of camera locations found in the GTA 6 Extended Look and earlier leaks.
The team has also updated map labels, added park and industrial areas, and improved the level of detail around Vice City.
The new version includes several smaller changes that fans may find interesting.
These include rooftop helipads, new road signs, an updated Leonida Penitentiary layout, the Crosstown safehouse and Effluvia interiors.
New alleyways have also been added around areas such as Vice Beach, Downtown and Southside.
These details could help fans better understand how the different parts of Vice City may connect.
The project has also introduced a 1km by 1km grid and updated the map’s size to approximately 21,000 by 20,000 units.
However, these measurements come from the community project and should not be treated as official confirmation from Rockstar.
The updated map has led to plenty of discussion among GTA 6 fans.

Some players were impressed by the size of the Vice City metropolitan area and the number of roads and locations included in the reconstruction.
Others compared the map’s layout to GTA 5, with some fans saying they wanted more major cities, a larger panhandle or a location inspired by Key West.
One part of the discussion focused on how large the urban areas might feel in the final game.
Some fans believe the map could offer a much bigger city experience than GTA 5, while others are still concerned about the size of the smaller towns and rural areas.
There were also questions about the map’s airports, train lines and travel time.
However, many of these details remain uncertain because the community map is still being updated and does not represent the final official game map.
The mapping project continues to develop as fans analyze new footage, leaked information, landmarks and road layouts.
The team is also expected to make more changes as additional details become available.
It is important to remember that GTA 6 Community Map V16 is a fan-made reconstruction, not a confirmed map from Rockstar Games.
Some areas are based on available evidence, while other details may still change or contain guesses.
Still, the latest update gives fans another way to explore the possible structure of GTA 6’s Leonida map while they wait for the game to launch.
With GTA 6 expected to release on November 19, 2026, players will eventually be able to compare the community’s reconstruction with the official in-game world.
