GTA 6 fans believe Jason Duval’s shirt in the new launch trailer could be a clue to Liberty City, the famous location from GTA 4.

The discovery has sparked new theories about Jason’s military past, Lucia’s background, and whether Rockstar Games could bring players back to the city that fans know from Grand Theft Auto IV.

In the GTA 6 launch trailer, Jason can be seen wearing a T-shirt that reads “US Army Marauder Combat Training School, North Fort Law.”

While the shirt might look like a small detail, longtime fans quickly recognized the name North Fort Law from the original Grand Theft Auto.

North Fort Law is a military base located in Fort Law, a district of New Guernsey in the first GTA game.

Since New Guernsey is based on New Jersey and is connected to the Liberty City setting, fans are now wondering whether this reference could mean more than a simple Easter egg.

However, Rockstar has not confirmed that Liberty City will appear in GTA 6. For now, the shirt is an interesting connection to the series’ history rather than proof that players will return to the city.

Jason’s GTA 6 Shirt Contains a Reference to the Original GTA

The discovery comes from the new GTA 6 launch trailer, released by Rockstar Games on October 15, 2026.

Fans noticed the words on Jason’s shirt and began looking into the location mentioned on it.

The name points back to the North Fort Law Military Base, which appeared in the original Grand Theft Auto. The base is located in Fort Law, part of the fictional state of New Guernsey.

This makes the detail interesting for longtime fans because it connects GTA 6 to one of the earliest games in the series.

Rockstar is known for including small references to earlier Grand Theft Auto titles, and Jason’s shirt could be another example.

The reference may simply be a nod to the franchise’s history. Still, some fans believe it could also provide a clue about Jason’s background and where he spent time before the events of GTA 6.

Could Jason’s Military Past Connect Him to Liberty City?

One popular fan theory is that Jason may have trained at North Fort Law before moving to Leonida.

Jason’s military background is already part of the character’s story, and the shirt gives fans a possible location connected to his time in the service.

If he trained in New Guernsey, he may have spent time near Liberty City before the events of GTA 6.

This has led to another question: could Jason and Lucia have met before the main story begins?

Lucia’s background has been linked to the Liberty City area in fan discussions. Some players now wonder whether Jason’s military service could have brought him into contact with her years before the events shown in the trailers.

It is an interesting idea, especially because Rockstar has not revealed every detail about how Jason and Lucia first met. However, there is no official confirmation that the two characters met in Liberty City or New Guernsey.

The shirt could simply identify Jason’s military training school without having any direct connection to Lucia.

What Is North Fort Law in the GTA Universe?

North Fort Law is a military base featured in the original Grand Theft Auto, released in 1997. It is located in the Fort Law district of New Guernsey, a fictional state inspired by New Jersey.

In the original game, the military base is connected to a mission involving stolen secret files.

Its appearance in GTA 6 would therefore create a direct reference to one of the earliest locations in the franchise.

New Guernsey is also closely linked to Liberty City in the original game’s fictional world. The area is based on places in New Jersey, while Liberty City itself is inspired by New York City.

This connection helps explain why the reference has caught fans’ attention. It is not just the name of a random military base; it belongs to a location tied to one of Grand Theft Auto’s most famous settings.

Even so, a reference to a location from an older game does not necessarily mean that the location will return as an explorable area in GTA 6.

Does Jason’s Shirt Mean Liberty City Will Return in GTA 6?

The possibility of Liberty City appearing in GTA 6 is the biggest question raised by this discovery.

Liberty City is best known to many players as the main setting of GTA 4, where Niko Bellic’s story takes place.

Bringing it back would be a major moment for longtime fans, especially if Rockstar allowed players to explore the city again.

Some fans believe Jason’s shirt could hint at a connection between Leonida and the Liberty City area.

Others think the reference is simply an Easter egg added for players who remember the original GTA.

At this point, the second explanation is just as possible as the first. Rockstar has not announced a Liberty City map, a return to GTA 4’s setting, or a mission that takes Jason or Lucia there.

The shirt provides a connection to the original game’s world, but it does not confirm that Liberty City will be a playable location in GTA 6.

GTA 6 Fans Are Looking for More Clues in the Launch Trailer

Jason’s shirt is one of several small details fans have been studying in the new trailer.

Players are examining character outfits, locations, vehicles, and background objects to see whether they reveal anything about the story.

These details often lead to discussions about returning characters, older locations, and possible connections between different Grand Theft Auto games.

The North Fort Law reference has attracted particular attention because it connects Jason’s military background with the series’ early history. It also gives fans a new way to think about his life before meeting Lucia.

Whether Rockstar intended the shirt as a simple tribute or a clue to something bigger remains unknown.

Until more information is revealed, fans will have to wait before drawing firm conclusions.

GTA 6 Release Date and Platforms

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The game takes place in the fictional state of Leonida, with Vice City serving as its main urban setting.

The story follows Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos as they become involved in a dangerous criminal conspiracy.

Rockstar’s latest trailer offers another look at the characters and world players will explore, but many story details are still being kept secret.

Could This Be a Bigger GTA 6 Easter Egg?

Jason’s North Fort Law shirt has given GTA 6 fans a new mystery to discuss. The reference connects the upcoming game to the original Grand Theft Auto and its version of New Guernsey, an area closely linked to Liberty City.

It could be a small tribute to the series’ past, a clue about Jason’s military history, or a detail that becomes more important when players learn his full story.

For now, the Liberty City return theory remains unconfirmed. The most reliable takeaway is that Rockstar has included a reference to a location from the original GTA, and fans are trying to work out whether it has a deeper meaning.

If the shirt does turn out to be connected to Jason and Lucia’s past, it could reveal an interesting part of their history.

But until Rockstar confirms more, players should treat any claims about Liberty City appearing in GTA 6 as speculation.
