Rockstar Games has aired the first GTA 6 TV commercial on NBC Sports, featuring an edited version of the game’s Launch Trailer with several noticeable changes. The commercial keeps most of the original footage but removes intimate scenes and extends some existing shots, giving fans a slightly different look at Jason and Lucia ahead of launch.

The advertisement aired during an NBA broadcast featuring the Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks on October 20 in the United States. Fans quickly noticed that the TV version was not identical to the official GTA 6 Launch Trailer, which Rockstar released on October 15.

One of the biggest changes is the removal of the shower scenes featuring Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.

The TV edit also removes a brief shot showing Lucia’s ankle monitor. With those moments cut, some of the surrounding scenes appear for longer than they do in the original trailer.

The commercial includes a longer shot of a plane, as well as an extended moment featuring Jason and Lucia. Other footage also appears to have been adjusted, including scenes involving Raul Bautista, Lucia near an aircraft’s landing gear, and Jason struggling to escape a chokehold.

These changes do not appear to introduce entirely new gameplay footage. Instead, Rockstar has reworked the existing trailer to create a version suited to television advertising.

Another noticeable difference is the complete removal of the Xbox logo. The commercial instead ends with PlayStation branding, reinforcing Sony’s marketing partnership with Rockstar for GTA 6.

Rockstar has already highlighted the PlayStation connection in its official trailer, which carries the message “Plays Best on PS5.”

However, GTA 6 is still scheduled to release on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The missing Xbox branding in this particular commercial does not mean the Xbox version has been cancelled or delayed.

The TV advertisement also signals that Rockstar’s marketing campaign is expanding beyond online video.

With the game’s release approaching, fans may see more commercials across television and other advertising platforms. Shorter edits could feature different scenes depending on the length and requirements of each advertisement.

Rockstar has not publicly announced a full schedule for upcoming TV spots, so it remains unclear how many versions of the trailer will air over the coming weeks.

GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

With less than a month remaining, the first TV commercial gives fans another reason to compare every frame of Rockstar’s latest footage while the company builds anticipation for launch day.
