GTA 6 fans hoping for a live-action trailer may need to lower their expectations after new details about a Miami filming production emerged.
Crews were recently spotted recording colorful, GTA-inspired cars around downtown Miami, leading to speculation that Rockstar Games was preparing a major promotional video ahead of the game’s November 19 launch.
The footage quickly spread across social media, especially after several real-life vehicles styled after cars from Grand Theft Auto VI were seen driving around Miami.
Cameras were mounted on vehicles as crews filmed the cars around locations resembling Vice City’s streets, including the real-world inspiration for Ocean Drive.
However, the available evidence points toward a different explanation. According to @smallo92, Miami filming permits do not list Rockstar Games as the production company. Instead, one permit names 305 Films and describes the production as “Social media for MH Vice.”
The wording has caught fans’ attention because “MH” likely refers to the Miami Heat, which is working with Rockstar on a special A Night in Vice City event scheduled for November 18.
The basketball team will host the Milwaukee Bucks at Kaseya Center in Miami, transforming the game into a GTA 6-themed celebration on the eve of the game’s release.
The filming could therefore be connected to promotional content for the event, potentially including social media videos or footage shown inside the arena.
However, neither the permit alone nor the available reports confirm exactly how the footage will be used.
GTA 6-Inspired Supercars Spotted Across Miami

The vehicles seen during filming have attracted plenty of attention because they recreate some of the distinctive cars featured in GTA 6.
Aerial footage shared online on October 16 showed several brightly colored vehicles travelling along the Venetian Causeway.
The reported lineup includes a pink-and-blue 1995 Grotti Cheetah, an orange Progen Emerus, a leopard-print Coquette D10, and a Pegassi Tempesta Interceptor styled after the Vice City Police Department.
The cars were reportedly customized by West Coast Customs, although the specific production details have not been officially confirmed by Rockstar Games.
Their appearance on real Miami roads has helped fuel speculation that Rockstar was filming a live-action trailer.
With the release date approaching, fans naturally wondered whether the company was preparing an advertisement featuring real vehicles, actors, and recognizable locations from the game’s fictional setting.
For now, there is no confirmed evidence that Rockstar is producing a live-action GTA 6 trailer as part of this shoot.
Miami Heat’s Vice City Event Is Just Weeks Away

The filming speculation comes as Rockstar’s real-world marketing campaign continues to grow. Miami has already featured Vice City-themed advertising, including a blimp, building signage, and other promotional displays.
The upcoming Miami Heat collaboration is another major part of that campaign. As confirmed by NBC 6 South Florida, the team will play as Vice City for one night on November 18.
The event will feature a specially designed court and themed uniforms, bringing the game’s fictional city into a real NBA arena.
The timing makes the promotion particularly notable. GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026, meaning the basketball event takes place just one day before players can finally enter Leonida themselves.
Although the Miami filming may not lead to the live-action trailer some fans were expecting, the cars and surrounding promotions still show how far Rockstar is taking its real-world Vice City campaign.
Rockstar has not announced a live-action trailer connected to this production. Until the company shares more information, fans should treat claims about a new trailer as speculation rather than confirmed news.
