GTA 6 fans may finally learn how much storage they need for Rockstar Games’ upcoming blockbuster, as the game moves closer to its November 19 launch. The official pre-loading date is already confirmed, and players are now waiting for the first reliable details about its download size.
According to recent speculation, GTA 6’s file size could appear on the PlayStation database as early as next week.
Reports also suggest review copies could reach reviewers before the end of October, potentially giving fans more information about the game ahead of release. However, neither the database timing nor the review-copy schedule has been officially confirmed by Rockstar.
Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, has confirmed that players who pre-order the digital version of GTA 6 can begin pre-loading on November 12, 2026, exactly one week before launch. The announcement does not include the game’s storage requirements, so players still do not know how much free space they will need.
A file size of around 200 GB has been circulating online, but there is no official confirmation that the final version will be that large.
One recent report discussed claims that a development build used to record leaked gameplay exceeds 200 GB.
However, development builds can contain extra files and tools that are not included in the final retail version, meaning that figure cannot be used to confirm the game’s actual download size.
The final size could also differ between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Until the digital storefronts list the required storage space, players should treat all estimates as speculation rather than confirmed information.
With the release date getting closer, the next few weeks could bring more details about GTA 6, including its download size and other launch information.
The November 12 pre-load date gives Rockstar a clear deadline for getting the game ready for players, although it does not guarantee that the file size will be revealed next week.
For now, GTA 6’s official file size remains unknown. Players can prepare by clearing some storage space on their consoles, but they should wait for the official listing before deciding exactly how much room to reserve.
GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
