A viral post claims that Rockstar Games confirmed you can see Jason fully nude in the shower in GTA 6. The claim spread quickly after IGN published its full interview with Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson.
However, the original interview does not confirm that players will see Jason’s full body without anything being hidden. It describes a moment when Nelson switched from Lucia to Jason and found him taking a shower.
IGN reporter Rachel Weber later clarified that she did not see Jason’s genitals during the preview. Rockstar has not publicly confirmed whether the game will show full-frontal nudity for its main characters.
So, what do we actually know about Jason’s shower scene, GTA 6’s age ratings, and the other details revealed in the interview? Here is a closer look at what has been confirmed and what remains unknown.
What Did IGN’s Interview With Rockstar Actually Say?
On October 7, 2026, IGN published its full interview with Rob Nelson, Rockstar North’s co-studio head and head of development. The conversation was recorded in July while Nelson played an unscripted, roughly 30-minute demo of GTA 6 for IGN’s Rachel Weber.
During the interview, Weber asked about what happens to Jason when players control Lucia. Nelson explained that Jason has his own routine and can be found at the safehouse or out doing different activities.
Later, Nelson switched from Lucia to Jason. IGN’s transcript describes the moment this way:
“At this point Nelson switches to Jason’s POV, where our hero is… naked.”
Nelson then reacted to what appeared on screen by saying:
“Oh, or you can switch and Jason’s in the shower!”
That is the passage behind the viral claim.
The interview confirms that Jason was naked in the shower during the demo. It does not confirm that the camera showed his genitals. The description of Jason being naked came from IGN’s account of what was happening on screen, not from a statement by Rockstar about full-frontal nudity.
The conversation then moved on to other gameplay features, including the gym system.
Can You See Jason Fully Nude in GTA 6?
At the time of the original preview, the answer was unknown.
After the story gained attention, Rachel Weber clarified on social media that she had not seen Jason’s genitals during the demo. Kotaku also contacted Rockstar for clarification but did not receive an answer at the time of its report.
This distinction matters because a character being naked does not automatically mean every part of their body is visible to the player. Camera angles, positioning, and other visual choices can conceal nudity even when a character is not wearing clothes.
The preview does not establish exactly how the scene is presented in the final game. Rockstar has not publicly explained whether Jason’s shower scene will show full-frontal nudity or how the camera will handle the moment.
For now, the safest conclusion is that Jason can be found naked in the shower when you switch characters, but the original IGN demo did not confirm visible full-frontal nudity.
What Do GTA 6’s Age Ratings Say About Nudity?
Although the shower scene remains unclear, GTA 6’s official age-rating information provides evidence that the game contains nudity and mature sexual content.
Here is what some of the published ratings say.
- ESRB (United States): GTA 6 is rated M for Mature 17+. Its content descriptors include Nudity and Strong Sexual Content.
- Australia: The Australian Classification Board has classified GTA 6 R18+, with consumer advice that includes sex scenes and drug use. Its classification information also lists nudity and sex among the content categories.
- United Kingdom and Europe: Published store and rating information has also been reported as including nudity and sexual content.
These ratings establish that mature content is part of GTA 6. However, they do not identify which characters appear nude or explain whether Jason’s shower scene includes visible genitalia.
A game’s age rating covers its content as a whole. It cannot, by itself, confirm a specific scene or prove that a playable character will be shown fully nude.
Has Rockstar Confirmed Full-Frontal Nudity for Jason?
No public statement from Rockstar has confirmed that players will see Jason’s genitals in the final game.
The confusion began when social media posts turned IGN’s description of Jason being naked into a stronger claim that Rockstar had confirmed full-frontal nudity. But the interview contains no such announcement.
It is important to separate three different things:
- What IGN observed: Jason was naked in the shower when Nelson switched to him during the preview.
- What the reporter clarified: Weber did not see Jason’s genitals during the demo.
- What Rockstar has confirmed: The company has not publicly clarified whether full-frontal nudity involving Jason will appear in the final game.
Until Rockstar provides more information or the released game can be examined directly, claims about exactly what players will see should be treated carefully.
What Did Rockstar Say About Intimacy in GTA 6?
The same interview also discussed physical intimacy and relationships in GTA 6.
When asked about intimacy in games, Nelson explained that physical intimacy is an important part of a relationship and that Rockstar wants to handle it properly. He described a process of trying different approaches and refining them until the team finds what works.
This suggests that Rockstar has given thought to how relationships are presented in the game. It also fits with what has been revealed about Jason and Lucia’s relationship, which plays an important role in the story.
However, Nelson’s comments about intimacy do not answer the question about Jason’s shower scene. They should not be treated as confirmation of any specific nudity feature.
Why Was Jason in the Shower When Players Switched Characters?
The scene also highlights an interesting part of GTA 6’s character-switching system.
Like GTA 5, GTA 6 allows players to switch between its main characters. But Jason and Lucia are not simply standing still, waiting for the player to control them. Each character has their own routine and can be doing something different when you switch.
That means you might return to Jason while he is at the safehouse, out exploring, or in the middle of an everyday activity.
The shower moment appears to be an example of this system working naturally during the demo. Rather than showing Jason in a fixed position, the game placed him in the middle of an activity when Nelson switched to him.
The interview also revealed that Jason and Lucia can stay in touch while apart. Nelson explained that one character may text the other about going to bed or locking up, and ignoring these messages could affect their relationship a little.
These details suggest that switching characters will be about more than simply changing the player-controlled protagonist. It will also let players see what the other character has been doing.
Other Details Revealed in the Full GTA 6 Interview
The shower scene received plenty of attention, but the full interview revealed several other details about GTA 6.
You Can Contact Jason or Lucia
Players will be able to text or call Jason and Lucia and ask the other character to meet them. Their communication also continues when they are apart, adding more detail to their relationship.
Gyms and Weight Changes
Nelson discussed gyms and physical changes in the game. Working out can improve muscularity and strength, while overeating can cause a character to gain weight. The interview also described the possibility of Jason and Lucia working out together.
Your Personal Vehicle Stores Equipment
Your personal vehicle can carry spare outfits and weapons you have purchased. This could make it easier to prepare for different activities without having to return home every time you need different equipment.
More Places Can Be Robbed
Nelson suggested that players will be able to rob a wide range of businesses, including smaller shops such as a headphone store. This points to more opportunities for crime outside traditional mission locations.
Animal Collection Returns
GTA 6 will include a way to study and collect information about animals, drawing on an idea seen in Red Dead Redemption 2.
More Radio and TV Advertisements
Nelson also said the game has more radio and in-game television advertisements than previous entries. These details should help make Leonida feel like a busy, lived-in world.
Conclusion
The viral claim about Jason being fully nude in GTA 6 goes further than what Rockstar’s interview actually confirms.
IGN’s demo showed Jason naked in the shower when Nelson switched characters, but Rachel Weber later clarified that she did not see his genitals. Rockstar has not publicly confirmed whether the final game will show full-frontal nudity for Jason.
GTA 6’s age ratings do confirm that the game contains nudity and mature sexual content, but they do not tell us which characters will appear nude or how individual scenes will be presented.
The full interview is still worth reading for its other details about character switching, relationships, gyms, robberies, and everyday activities. These features offer a better understanding of how Rockstar is building a more active and detailed world.
Until Rockstar provides a direct answer, it is best to stick to what the interview and official ratings actually confirm rather than treating viral social media claims as fact.
