Phil, speculated to be Phil Cassidy, is a supporting character featured in GTA 6. He was first revealed in Trailer 2, appearing in a commercial running Phil’s Ammu-Nation, a gun store.

The original Phil Cassidy appeared in earlier GTA games, including GTA: Vice City, Vice City Stories, Liberty City Stories, and even GTA 3.

He was known as a heavy-set man who eventually owned a gun store in Liberty City, and in Vice City, he worked alongside iconic protagonists like Tommy Vercetti and Victor Vance.

However, the Phil seen in GTA 6 isn’t likely the exact same character from those older games.

The older titles are set in Rockstar’s 3D Universe, while GTA 6 takes place in the HD Universe.

Additionally, Phil Cassidy would be much older now, given he was fully grown in the mid-1980s, and he also lost an arm during Vice City — yet the Phil in the trailer has both arms.

Despite these differences, many fans believe this could still be an alternate universe version of Phil Cassidy.

Rockstar seems to favor the character, bringing him back whenever possible, he’s even referenced in Rockstar North’s Manhunt.

The similar appearance, name, and role as a gun store owner suggest he could be important in GTA 6, even if he isn’t exactly the Phil Cassidy we remember.
