Free GTA 6 T-shirts handed out at Tokyo Game Show 2026 are already being resold online for more than $200, with one Osaka reseller reportedly selling two shirts for $219.99 each.
Fans who attended the GTA 6 Extended Look presentation at the PlayStation booth received a limited-edition T-shirt after watching the immersive Netflix presentation.
The experience reportedly included surround sound and haptic effects, giving visitors a more interactive way to watch the footage.
However, the free merchandise has quickly become a valuable item for resellers.
According to Dexerto, one Osaka-based reseller has already sold two GTA 6 shirts on eBay for $219.99 each, with free shipping and import fees included.
Other shirts also appeared on Japanese resale platforms before the public days of Tokyo Game Show had even started.
The high resale prices come as demand for the GTA 6 presentation and its limited merchandise continues to grow.
Some attendees reportedly struggled to enter the PlayStation booth, which was said to have closed after around 10 minutes because of the large crowd.
The Tokyo Game Show event also included a special “VI” sticker from a PlayStation sticker set, giving fans another piece of promotional GTA 6 merchandise to collect.
This is not the first time GTA 6-related items have attracted high resale prices.
Fans have previously paid extra for limited merchandise and preorder-related items, even when there was no real shortage of the game itself.
The situation has also sparked discussion about resellers and scalpers, with some fans questioning why free promotional items are immediately being listed for hundreds of dollars.
For collectors, however, the limited availability and connection to the GTA 6 Extended Look presentation could make the shirts more desirable.
Whether the current prices remain high is unclear, as more attendees may list their shirts online after the Tokyo Game Show event.
Rockstar and PlayStation have not announced whether the T-shirts will be distributed through other events or made available for purchase.
For now, fans who missed the Tokyo Game Show presentation may have to pay a significant amount if they want to own one of the limited GTA 6 promotional shirts.
