GTA 6 fans think Jason Duval could have an entire military or mercenary mission strand after the launch trailer showed him taking part in what looks like a coordinated tactical operation.

While Rockstar Games has not confirmed anything like this, the scene has sparked a new theory about how Jason’s military background could shape his story.

Jason is one of the two main characters in Grand Theft Auto VI, alongside Lucia Caminos.

Although Rockstar has shared some details about his life, there are still plenty of unanswered questions about his past and how he became involved in Leonida’s criminal world.

His military background has already caught the attention of fans. Now, the launch trailer has given players another reason to look at that part of his history, showing Jason alongside other armed men during what appears to be an organized operation.

The scene has led some fans to wonder whether Jason could become involved in military-style work or mercenary missions during the story.

Rather than being a brief moment in one mission, the sequence could potentially point to a larger part of his character arc.

If Rockstar does explore this idea, it could give Jason a different type of mission from Lucia’s.

Players might see him working with armed groups, taking part in coordinated raids, or getting pulled back into a world he thought he had left behind.

These are only possibilities, however, and there is no confirmed information about a dedicated military mission strand.

Rockstar has often connected its protagonists’ backgrounds to the stories they experience.

In GTA 5, Michael’s past as a bank robber plays a major role in the plot, while Trevor’s experience with criminal groups shapes many of his missions.

Jason’s military history could serve a similar purpose in GTA 6, giving the character skills, contacts, and personal conflicts that become important later in the story.

It could also help explain why Jason appears comfortable around weapons and dangerous situations.

However, a character’s background does not necessarily mean the game will include a separate mission category based on it.

The launch trailer alone is not enough to confirm the theory. The armed men could be connected to a single story mission, a criminal job, or another part of GTA 6’s plot that Rockstar has not explained yet.

For now, Jason having a full military or mercenary mission strand remains speculation.

Rockstar has yet to reveal the complete structure of his story, and fans will have to wait for more gameplay or official details to learn how his past connects to the events of GTA 6.

With the game scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, there is still plenty of room for Rockstar to reveal more about Jason and Lucia’s lives.

If the military theory turns out to be true, it could add a new layer to Jason’s character and make his past more important than fans initially expected.

Players can follow confirmed updates through the official Rockstar Games GTA 6 website.
