Rockstar Games has already shared a lot about GTA 6, including several new locations across the state of Leonida.

But even after two trailers, dozens of screenshots and plenty of new details, there’s still one question that fans can’t stop asking:

How big is the GTA 6 map?

The answer is simple: nobody knows yet.

Rockstar has confirmed where GTA 6 takes place and introduced many of the places players will visit, but it still hasn’t revealed the game’s full map or its official size.

So far, Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 is set in the fictional state of Leonida, with Vice City returning as the main city.

The developer has also revealed six different regions that make up the open world.

Those regions are Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park.

Each area has its own style.

Vice City is full of busy streets, beaches and nightlife, while Leonida Keys offers tropical islands surrounded by the ocean.

Grassrivers is a huge swamp filled with wildlife, Port Gellhorn is a run-down coastal town, Ambrosia is home to factories and biker gangs, and Mount Kalaga National Park features forests, mountains and off-road trails.

Rockstar has also confirmed several well-known locations inside Vice City, including Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, VC Port, and the Tisha-Wocka Flea Market.

Fans have also noticed familiar names like Vercetti Estate and the Ocean View Hotel, bringing back memories of the original Vice City.

Outside the main regions, Rockstar has revealed more places that exist in Leonida, including Watson Bay, Washington Beach, Lake Leonida, Gambit Bay, Stockyard, and Leonida Penitentiary.

However, the company hasn’t shown where these locations are on the map.

While Rockstar has revealed plenty of locations, it has stayed completely quiet about one important detail.

The company has not confirmed the size of the GTA 6 map.

There is no official number showing how many square kilometres the map covers, and Rockstar still hasn’t released the full world map.

Instead, the developer has only described GTA 6 as having a “massive world” and called it “the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet.”

While that sounds impressive, it doesn’t tell fans exactly how large Leonida really is.

That hasn’t stopped the community from trying to figure it out.

Over the past few years, several fan-made mapping projects have studied trailers, screenshots and earlier leaked footage to estimate the size of Leonida.

Some believe the map could be two to three times larger than GTA 5, while others estimate it could cover around 110 to 150 square kilometres.

However, it’s important to remember that none of those numbers have been confirmed by Rockstar.

They’re simply estimates based on what fans have seen so far.

For now, the only things Rockstar has officially confirmed are the six regions and the many locations spread across Leonida.

With GTA 6 set to launch on 19 November 2026, fans are hoping Rockstar will reveal the full world map before release.

Until then, the true size of Leonida remains one of the biggest mysteries surrounding one of the most anticipated games ever made.
