GTA 6 has reportedly generated an estimated $630 million from pre-orders alone, with more than 6.4 million digital copies sold ahead of its November 19 release. The latest figures from analytics firm Sensor Tower show that Rockstar Games’ upcoming open-world game is already attracting enormous demand weeks before players can enter Leonida.

According to Insider Gaming, Sensor Tower estimates that GTA 6 has sold 6.45 million digital copies, generating around $630 million in pre-order spending.

These figures cover PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and they suggest that the game is already earning more money before launch than many games manage throughout their entire commercial life.

However, these are third-party estimates rather than official sales figures. Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, have not confirmed the exact number of GTA 6 pre-orders.

PS5 Accounts for Most GTA 6 Pre-Orders

Sensor Tower’s estimates suggest that PlayStation 5 is leading the way, accounting for approximately 74% of GTA 6 pre-orders. Xbox Series X|S makes up the remaining 26%.

GTA 6 Could Generate Billions During Its Launch Week

The pre-order figures are only part of the story. Research firm Newzoo has also published a major forecast for GTA 6’s launch, estimating that the game could generate between $3.3 billion and $5.2 billion in global sales by the end of its launch week, depending on how its sales develop.

In its GTA 6 sales forecast, Newzoo explained that the game had an exceptionally strong start to its pre-order campaign. Its analysis found approximately $180 million in digital pre-order spending across the United States and five major European markets during the final week of June.

The $3.3 billion to $5.2 billion range is a forecast, not a confirmed result. The final amount will depend on actual purchases after release, and it should not be confused with money Rockstar has already earned.

Even so, the projection highlights the scale of expectations surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI.

The game follows GTA 5, which has sold more than 200 million copies over its lifetime, and Rockstar is preparing to launch its next major entry more than a decade later.

More GTA 6 Pre-Orders Could Arrive Before Launch

With the release date approaching, the estimated pre-order total could continue to rise. Players who have not purchased the game yet may decide to place an order as more promotional material and details become available.

The reported pre-loading date is November 12, 2026, one week before launch. Pre-loading allows eligible buyers to download the game ahead of release so they can start playing when access opens, although the exact timing may vary by platform and region.

Rockstar has also been increasing its marketing activity, with the Launch Trailer appearing in online promotions and GTA-themed advertising showing up around Miami. These campaigns could help keep the game in the spotlight during the final weeks before release.
