GTA 6 fans are once again looking at October 4 as a possible date for Rockstar’s next big reveal, but this theory comes with a very familiar history.
A new post on the GTA 6 subreddit has brought the October 4 date back into the spotlight.
The post, titled “GTA VI Trailer 4 SOON!”, claims that “Trailer 4 is in October 4!” and has already started getting attention from other fans.
At first glance, it might look like another GTA 6 release-date clue.
However, there is an important detail that fans should know before getting too excited: October 4 has already been connected to a GTA 6 trailer theory in the past.
Back in July 2024, fans noticed something strange in a Rockstar promotional video for a new GTA Online Pizza This… event.

The video briefly showed a Pizza Boy scooter with a license plate containing “OCT”, while the plate also featured the number 4 in “PIZZ4.”
Fans quickly put the two together and came up with “OCT 4”, leading to theories that Rockstar was secretly teasing the date of the next GTA 6 trailer.
Several gaming websites reported on the theory at the time, although Rockstar never confirmed that the plate had anything to do with GTA 6.
October 4, 2024 eventually arrived without the rumored GTA 6 trailer.
The theory was therefore debunked, but the date has now returned in a completely different situation.
This time, the discussion is about GTA 6 Trailer 4, rather than Trailer 2.
The new Reddit post appeared on October 1, 2026 and simply claims that the fourth trailer is coming on October 4.
The post does not provide an official Rockstar source, announcement, or confirmed leak to support the date.
That makes the claim fan speculation for now.
There is, however, a reason why another GTA 6 trailer is being discussed at this point.

Rockstar recently released Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, which arrived on August 27 and gave fans almost 27 minutes of footage captured entirely from the game on PlayStation 5.
Rockstar described it as an extended look at the biggest evolution of the GTA series yet.
The video gave players a much closer look at Jason, Lucia, Vice City and the wider Leonida world.
It also showed off many of the game’s systems and activities, making it one of the biggest official GTA 6 reveals so far.
Rockstar’s official GTA 6 website currently lists the two traditional trailers and the Extended Look.
Trailer 1 was released on December 4, 2023, while Trailer 2 arrived on May 6, 2025. The Extended Look followed on August 27, 2026. There is currently no official listing for a GTA 6 Trailer 4.
The timing is still interesting because GTA 6 is now scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026.

That puts the game only weeks away from release, meaning Rockstar is entering the final part of its marketing campaign.
Rockstar has already opened pre-orders and continues to publish GTA 6 updates through its Newswire.
So could another trailer arrive before launch?
It is certainly possible, but there is currently no confirmed date for GTA 6 Trailer 4.
Rockstar could release another trailer, gameplay video, launch trailer, or simply continue promoting the game through screenshots and other material.
The October 4 theory is therefore worth watching, but it should not be treated as a confirmed GTA 6 trailer date.
There is also a funny connection to the old theory.
The original October 4 prediction became one of the many examples of the GTA community trying to decode hidden Rockstar messages while waiting for new information.
That same date has now returned more than two years later, this time attached to the fourth GTA 6 trailer.
Whether it is another joke from the community or someone genuinely trying to predict Rockstar’s next move, fans will not have to wait long to find out.

October 4, 2026 falls on a Sunday, so Rockstar would also be breaking from the weekday release pattern fans have become used to for major GTA 6 announcements.
That makes the date even more questionable, although Rockstar has never been completely predictable with its marketing.
For now, there is no official confirmation that GTA 6 Trailer 4 will release on October 4.
The current claim comes from the GTA 6 community, and the date has a history of being used in an incorrect trailer theory.
Still, with GTA 6 launching on November 19, Rockstar’s next major reveal could be just around the corner.
And if October 4 passes without a trailer again, at least the GTA community will have another legendary date to add to its long list of GTA 6 trailer theories.
