Lana Del Rey has shared her excitement about joining GTA 6, revealing that she has been a fan of the Grand Theft Auto series for years.
The singer also shared a surprising story about how playing GTA 5 helped some members of her family recognize the roads in Los Angeles.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Del Rey explained that some of her family members already knew their way around parts of LA when they first visited the city, thanks to playing GTA 5.
“One of the coolest things about this is the fact that the first time some of our family got to LA they actually knew the roads because of playing the game (GTA 5),” the singer said.
She also explained how much the opportunity means to her, calling it both special and a privilege. Del Rey added that she cannot wait to get into GTA 6 and start playing it herself.
Her comments show that the singer has a real connection to the franchise, making her involvement in Rockstar Games’ next Grand Theft Auto title even more meaningful.
Del Rey has been confirmed as a host of Back Country Radio in GTA 6, a station focused on country music.
She will share hosting duties with country singer Morgan Wallen, bringing another well-known music star into the game’s radio lineup.
Her husband, Jeremy Dufrene, will also appear in GTA 6 as Mud Dog Mike, a character described as a roving reporter, swamp meteorologist and airboat captain.
Rockstar Games has already revealed several artists and radio stations that players will be able to enjoy while exploring Vice City and Leonida.
The music lineup includes a mix of different genres, giving players plenty of options as they drive around the game’s open world.
However, Del Rey’s latest comments stand out because they show just how much the series has meant to her and her family over the years.
What started as playing GTA 5 eventually became a real-life connection to the places recreated in the game.
GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, and fans are now waiting to hear more about its radio stations and music lineup.
With Del Rey joining the game, players will have another familiar voice to listen to while exploring Leonida.
