The Double Barrel Shotgun is a powerful close-range weapon set to appear in GTA 6.
Known for its raw stopping power, this shotgun offers massive damage at short distances, making it one of the most lethal firearms in the game.
A version of the Double Barrel Shotgun first appeared in GTA: Chinatown Wars and later returned in GTA Online.
However, those earlier versions were typically short, sawn-off variants designed for compact use. In GTA 6, the weapon seems to be a full-length model, giving it a more realistic and traditional look.
The shotgun was first spotted in an official screenshot of the Leonida Grassrivers, where a man aboard an Airboat 09 can be seen using the weapon to defend himself from an approaching American Alligator — a clear example of how wildlife and combat might interact in the new game world.
In GTA Online, players couldn’t fire one barrel at a time — both barrels discharged together with each trigger pull.
It’s not yet confirmed whether GTA 6 will follow the same mechanics or allow individual barrel firing for more tactical control.
