GTA 6 is one of the most anticipated games from Rockstar Games, expected to release in 2025.
Given how successful GTA 5 was, earning over $800 million on its first day, GTA 6 is likely to be one of the biggest games of the year. It might even push more gamers to buy a PS5 or Xbox Series X.
But Rockstar has been pretty secretive about GTA 6. So far, they’ve only released one teaser trailer, but some unfinished gameplay footage has leaked online.
Right now, all we can do is guess what the game will include. Here are 6 features we hope to see in GTA 6.
1. A Crime-Filled Love Story
Rumors suggest that GTA 6 might focus on a dramatic love story between two criminals, similar to Bonnie and Clyde.
The trailer hints at this by showing a couple committing robberies together. Having two playable characters, including a female one, sounds more straightforward than the three characters in GTA V.
While GTA is known for its humor, a serious relationship could add more emotional depth, much like what we saw in Red Dead Redemption.
Plus, it seems like the main characters might be Latino, which fits with the Miami-like setting.
Handling their story with care would be great for representation.
2. Bigger Heists
GTA games are all about causing chaos in a big city, but they also need structured missions.
GTA V introduced complex heists, and we’d love to see those return in GTA 6. Remember how thrilling it was to rob federal buildings or steal gold?
We want GTA 6 heists to make us feel like we’re building an empire, not just surviving as small-time crooks.
This would make the game feel larger and more exciting.
3. A Wild Florida Setting
GTA 6 is bringing us back to a fictional version of Miami, Florida, last seen in the fan-favorite GTA: Vice City. Florida has only gotten crazier in the past 20 years, and we’re curious to see how GTA 6 reflects that.
The trailer already hints at this, showing a “Florida Joker” with clown makeup in a mugshot—just one example of the state’s wild headlines.
4. Social Media Madness
GTA 6 should include an in-game social media system, given how much we rely on the internet today for news and entertainment.
Imagine pulling off big crimes just to go viral or using the dark web to make shady deals.
GTA 6 doesn’t need to go full-on tech-crazy like Watch Dogs, but it should include modern tech that wasn’t as big when GTA V was released.
Your phone in the game should be just as useful as your gun and car.
5. A Fantastic, Modern Soundtrack
The music in Grand Theft Auto games has always been top-notch, often so good that it creates licensing issues for re-releases.
We fully expect GTA 6 to continue this tradition. There’s been so much great music over the past decade that would fit perfectly with the vibe of a criminal Florida.
From drill music and mumble rap to synthwave, the possibilities are endless. And since GTA 6 might have its first female protagonist, it’s only right that the soundtrack features female artists like Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion.
Maybe we’ll even get a nod to the Kendrick/Drake rivalry.
6. Rockstar Needs to Show They’re Still the Best
Rockstar has made some of the best and most influential games ever, but they’ve slowed down in recent years.
Their last big game was Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018 (we won’t count the troubled GTA: The Trilogy).
Making a huge game on modern consoles takes a lot of time and effort, which isn’t easy to keep up with. Still, GTA V and GTA Online made so much money that Rockstar can pretty much do whatever they want.
But there’s still a lot of pressure on GTA 6 to prove that Rockstar is still the top dog in the world of AAA gaming.
