A fan has already created a model of the GTA 6 map, and you can download it now. Just like what happened with GTA V, the community is working together to map out how the game’s world will look before it comes out.
Starting from leaked gameplay information in 2022, the community has been putting together different parts of the map. The first official trailer gave them even more details, making their work more accurate.
For example, a fan noticed that the real Loews Hotel in Miami can be seen in four different shots during the GTA VI trailer. Even though it’s still early, the community has made a lot of progress in a short time.
It’s important to remember that what we see in the trailer might be different by 2025. The first trailer for GTA V was amazing and well-known, but it had scenes where parts of the map weren’t loaded. Recent leaks also show that the game changed in the last few years before it was released.
Even if the community’s map isn’t exactly like the final game, it’s still fun to watch and be a part of. Mapping out GTA VI’s world is harder because it’s so big and has a lot of different things, but that’s what makes it even more exciting.
The 3D model
YouTuber Dark Space made a 3D model of the GTA VI map based on the first trailer and the community map. This lets us see the game’s world from different angles shown in the trailer.
Right now, it’s still in the early stages, but it’s starting to be accurate. Dark Space put his map on the trailer, and you can see a good amount of similarity. By using shots from the trailer and leaked footage, they figured out rough positions for the locations.
Dark Space also compared the size of the GTA VI map with GTA V’s and IV’s. It’s clear that Leonida will be bigger than the maps in GTA V and GTA IV, but there’s more to it. A big part of San Andreas was similar outside of Los Santos, while there seems to be more variety in the Leonida map, including the Everglades.
According to this 3D model, the entire GTA VI map and all of Los Santos can fit in Vice City. Leaks have also shown other town and city environments farther away from Vice City. This is different from GTA V, but it has more water, so that’s something to think about.
Dark Space shared that the model is free to download. Anyone who wants to work on the project using this model can do so. He also gave permission to use it in your own content, but make sure to give him credit. It’s awesome to see the GTA community working together once more. More than ten years ago, it was exciting to follow the community’s map-making progress before GTA V came out, and now, it’s happening again. Leonida seems to be Rockstar’s biggest game world so far, and it’s giving fans a fun and rewarding challenge.
