If there are two things you can almost count on, they’re GTA 6 and the PlayStation 5 Pro. While GTA 6’s 2025 release is a sure thing, the PS5 Pro is still mostly a rumor—though it might be closer than you think.
Industry insider Jeff Grubb suggests that Sony might launch the much-anticipated PS5 Pro alongside GTA 6. While this is just speculation for now, it’s not too far-fetched.
PlayStation has always been a key platform for Grand Theft Auto, with the two often launching in tandem. Grubb believes that Sony could reveal the PS5 Pro at a State of Play event in September.
It makes sense that Sony would want to capitalize on the holiday season. They could announce the PS5 Pro in September with a November release date. This timing would let them take advantage of Christmas sales and potentially offer a GTA 6 bundle for the end of 2025.
With Xbox slowing down in console sales and their recent hardware refresh not winning fans over, Sony might swoop in and grab the spotlight.
Of course, nothing is confirmed yet. Sony hasn’t officially announced the PS5 Pro, though it was a hot topic at Gamescom in Germany recently. We’ll have to wait until Sony makes an official announcement, but it’s likely we’ll hear more soon, especially as this console generation seems to be winding down.
