YouTube Tightens Its Grip on Violent Gameplay Effect on GTA 6
As excitement around GTA 6 reached its peak, YouTube dropped explosive news
about tightening its grip on violent gameplay videos. The platform has revised its
content guidelines to enforce stricter moderation of violent gaming footage.
According to a recent report, YouTube has begun implementing stricter checks on
gaming videos that depict extreme or realistic violence.

Videos that show harm and torture to civilians or sexualized violence now face the
risk of age restriction, demonetization, or removal from recommendations. These
elements, often featured in open-world titles like Grand Theft Auto or Red Dead
Redemption 2, are now under closer scrutiny.
Content creators said that videos that follow the rules are now getting red-
flagged. Many old videos of games such as Call of Duty, Cyberpunk 2077, and Red
Dead Redemption 2 that once followed the rules are now marked for policy
violations. Some creators have even received warning notices without any proper
explanation.
“We’re not promoting violence; we’re just showing the storylines of the
games,” one creator said. “But now, even standard missions are
getting flagged.”
