Before Rockstar Games formally releases the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 map, the mapping community has been working nonstop to create it.
Recently, GameRoll (X/@GameRollGTA), an X user, posted a project image that contrasted parts of Liberty City and Los Santos with the new Vice City map. It was also mentioned that Vice City will surpass HD Universe maps in size.
People started working on this project after some leaks in September 2022. They’ve made a lot of progress, but we can’t be sure about the details until Rockstar Games officially shows us the Grand Theft Auto 6 map.

On January 8, 2024, GameRoll shared a picture that showed how big the new Vice City map is. In the picture, there are three pieces of land. The long piece on the right is South Beach, which is supposed to be part of the new game map.
The short piece on the left is the island of Algonquin from Grand Theft Auto 4, and the piece in the background is a messed-up map of Los Santos County from Grand Theft Auto 5.
The community has resumed its work on the GTA 6 mapping project after the first trailer dropped.

People in the mapping community believe that South Beach will be just a small part of the State of Leonida. Another picture shared by Detective, a popular data miner, shows that the Leonida map in Grand Theft Auto 6 has more land to the north, east, and southwest.
Since South Beach is already as big as Los Santos County, the community thinks that the full map will be even bigger than the maps in the current games.
In September 2022, some leaks gave the community an early look at the new Vice City map. After that, data miners found and mapped different areas like Port Gellhorn, Yorktown, Lake Leonida, Redhill, and more.
The official trailer confirmed most of these places and gave details about other areas. The outline of the State of Leonida is almost done, and fans are excited to learn more details in the GTA 6 trailer. But the mapping community still doesn’t know what Rockstar Games has planned for the north side of the map.
