PC gamers are anxiously watching the calendar as rumors swirl about the potential release date for the much-anticipated GTA VI. If the speculation is true, excitement is reaching new heights.
After years of whispers and leaks, Rockstar Games finally dropped the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto, and it definitely lived up to the hype. As of now, that debut trailer has racked up over 205 million views on YouTube, showing just how eager fans are.
Rockstar Games has confirmed that GTA VI will launch sometime in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, but they haven’t locked in a specific date yet. The release window was later narrowed down to late 2025.
Unfortunately, while it’s confirmed that a PC version is in the works, Rockstar hasn’t announced a release date or even a release window for it. This uncertainty is driving fans crazy with anticipation.
One Reddit user, MaxSniffer007, shared previous release schedules for GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, noting that Rockstar typically releases PC versions a year or two after the console launch. If GTA VI hits consoles in late 2025, it’s likely that the PC version will follow between 2026 and 2027—hopefully closer to 2026.
“I HATE waiting for the PC release, but that’s life I guess,” complained RockyRaccoon968, who recalled the long wait after watching the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer on release day and then having to wait three years to play it on PC.
Another user, rakeemid, questioned why PC gamers might have to wait another two years after the console launch. Meanwhile, PhiltheAgony69 expressed hope that, given the long development time, Rockstar might release the game on all platforms simultaneously.
