Playing roles, known as Roleplay (RP), has become a really popular way to enjoy GTA 5. After Rockstar Games got Cfx.re, the group behind FiveM, a well-known RP server mod, players are hoping that RP will get even better in Grand Theft Auto 6, which is set to come out in 2025 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Rockstar hasn’t said anything about RP in the new game yet, but there’s a lot of potential. Let’s explore five ways GTA 6 could make Grand Theft Auto RP even more exciting.
5 Ways GTA 6 Could Take Roleplay Feature to the Next Level
1) Affiliation with popular content creators
NoPixel RP is a really popular GTA roleplay (RP) server, and it has many famous YouTubers and Twitch streamers as members. A lot of people want to join because they like watching their favorite content creators there. But it’s not simple to get accepted into NoPixel RP.
Even the famous singer and songwriter T-Pain used to be part of NoPixel. So, Rockstar could make Grand Theft Auto RP in GTA 6 more popular by teaming up with well-known online personalities.
2) Official integration
In Grand Theft Auto 5, there are two main ways to play: the story mode and multiplayer, also known as Grand Theft Auto Online. To join roleplay (RP) servers, players need to use mod clients like FiveM. But now that Rockstar owns Cfx.re, they might officially include RP servers, even on gaming consoles, in a new way compared to GTA 5.
In theory, Grand Theft Auto 6 could give players three choices: story mode, online, and RP. The third option would let players join custom servers where the gameplay is different from Grand Theft Auto 6 Online (which hasn’t been announced yet) and more like what players are used to in RP servers.
3) Utilizing Cfx.re’s experience
The experience from Cfx.re can be valuable not just for adding roleplay (RP) servers to the next Grand Theft Auto game but also for running and offering help. They’ve been part of Rockstar Games since August 2023, so they know a lot about how Rockstar’s games work.
This means Cfx.re could use what they’ve learned from working with Rockstar Games to handle RP servers even better in Grand Theft Auto 6.
4) Having Grand Theft Auto actors be active on RP servers
A few months back, Shawn Fonteno, the actor who plays Franklin in Grand Theft Auto 5, shared about his own roleplay (RP) server. Similarly, Rockstar could involve cast members in active roles on RP servers in Grand Theft Auto 6. This way, fans get a special chance to play with them.
It doesn’t have to happen all the time, just occasionally, like a special event. This could also give people a reason to choose playing Grand Theft Auto RP instead of GTA 6 Online.
5) More immersion
People expect Grand Theft Auto 6 to be better than the previous game in how it works. The new game should be more interactive, making it more engaging for players, not just in the main story but also in roleplay.
When players act as their made-up characters in roleplay, it’s important to have a world in the game that feels real and reacts to what they do. Having an interactive environment and non-player characters (NPCs) that respond well can help create a game world that feels believable.
Simple but good features, like being able to chat with nearby players, can also make the interactions between roleplayers feel more realistic.
