With Grand Theft Auto 6 on the horizon, fans are buzzing with excitement and curiosity about how massive the Vice City map will be. We already know that GTA 6 will take us back to the iconic Vice City, along with its surrounding areas.
Since the game is reportedly based on a map of Florida, we can expect Rockstar to go all out in making this latest installment of the Grand Theft Auto series as realistic as possible.
It’s even been reported that GTA 6 has a staggering $2 billion budget, making it the most expensive video game ever created.
One fan might have figured out where all that money went by comparing the maps from Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto IV to what we know about GTA 6’s scale.
They posted on Reddit, saying, “I added V and IV to the mapping project to show how much GTA has grown!”
The image they shared suggests that GTA 6 is set to have the largest map yet, though it’s not dramatically bigger than Los Santos and the surrounding areas from GTA V. In comparison, Grand Theft Auto IV’s map looks tiny, being less than half the size of its successors.
Some fans, however, have different perspectives on the size of the map. One pointed out, “Remember, 70% of GTA 5’s map was just mountains. Florida basically has no mountains, so the map can easily feel much bigger than we’re already speculating.”
Another fan added, “I just hope that GTA 6 doesn’t have a huge map with wasted space like GTA 5.”
With Grand Theft Auto 6 expected to offer more content than ever before, it’s likely that Rockstar will use every bit of that map to its fullest. We’ll finally get to see just how ambitious this project is when the game is released sometime in 2025.
